Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thijs Van Diep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kyle Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thijs Van Diep! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez needs to keep his hands up - Van Diep had a free shot at his head there. Rodriguez throws a series of punches but Van Diep moves out of range. Rodriguez dodges the punch combination from Van Diep.
Van Diep clinches up against the cage. Van Diep using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rodriguez has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Van Diep is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Van Diep is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage. Van Diep's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Van Diep throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rodriguez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Van Diep is in Rodriguez's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Rodriguez is looking to stand up but Van Diep isn't so interested in that idea. Rodriguez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rodriguez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Van Diep trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodriguez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van Diep gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Van Diep loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Van Diep drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rodriguez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Van Diep has Rodriguez in his guard. Van Diep is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rodriguez throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Diep has his feet on Rodriguez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Rodriguez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Van Diep wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage. Rodriguez has Van Diep pressed against the cage, preventing Van Diep from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Van Diep can't break the clinch.

Van Diep pushes off an throws an elbow but Rodriguez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Van Diep tries to break the clinch but Rodriguez is controlling the position. Van Diep is trying to push Rodriguez away but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Van Diep swings wildly with an uppercut but Rodriguez uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Diep throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rodriguez blocks it with crossed arms. Rodriguez drags the fight down to the ground.
Van Diep prevents Rodriguez from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Van Diep is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rodriguez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rodriguez has escaped and now he's on top! Van Diep looks gassed! Rodriguez is standing up over Van Diep. Van Diep looks to escape but Rodriguez dives into side control.
Rodriguez works to advance to full mount. Van Diep defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Rodriguez throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Van Diep because Rodriguez loaded up on that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Diep defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rodriguez. Van Diep is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Rodriguez get's back to his feet. Rodriguez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rodriguez!
It looks like Thijs Van Diep has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A combination from Van Diep does no damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Van Diep tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Rodriguez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Van Diep swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodriguez misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Thijs Van Diep will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Thijs Van Diep's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Van Diep gets a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Van Diep's face as he tries to break the clinch. Van Diep wants a takedown.
A short right from Rodriguez. Rodriguez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Van Diep's efforts to push away. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Rodriguez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rodriguez manages to break the clinch.
Rodriguez blocks the body kick.
Rodriguez moves into the clinch. Rodriguez comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Rodriguez blocks an uppercut.
Van Diep wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage. Rodriguez blocks a body shot from Van Diep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Van Diep is defending well. Rodriguez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Van Diep's efforts to push away. Rodriguez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Van Diep throws a right and a left that Rodriguez avoids nicely. Van Diep feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Van Diep is breathing heavily. Van Diep throws a strike but Rodriguez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Van Diep wants to stand but Rodriguez is controlling the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez is really struggling to control Van Diep but he's trying to hold on to the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Van Diep looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rodriguez passes into side control.

Van Diep stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Van Diep wants it to stay on the feet. Thijs Van Diep seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rodriguez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Van Diep tries to keep at a distance but Rodriguez has taken the fight into the clinch. Van Diep has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rodriguez after a bit of a struggle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Diep lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Rodriguez lands on the inside with an uppercut. Van Diep is trying to push Rodriguez away but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rodriguez lands an elbow that stopped Van Diep in his tracks for a moment. Van Diep is trying to break the clinch but Rodriguez is controlling him. Rodriguez lands an elbow just above Van Diep 's eye. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rodriguez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Diep walks away with a smile on his face. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rodriguez misses with a series of wild punches.
Rodriguez gets tackled into the cage by Van Diep. Van Diep maintains the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Van Diep managing to block the knees to the body from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez jumps guard but Van Diep turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Van Diep misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Rodriguez pulls guard. Van Diep stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodriguez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Van Diep won't allow Rodriguez to sweep him here. Rodriguez is trying to control the position but Van Diep postures up. Van Diep prevents Rodriguez from getting back to his feet. That's one minute gone in the round. Van Diep seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Van Diep working Rodriguez over with strikes. Rodriguez tries to roll over but Van Diep keeps him under control. Van Diep is trying to control. Rodriguez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Van Diep thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rodriguez is trying to stand back up but Van Diep is controlling him
Van Diep is keen to just control but Rodriguez is a slippery customer. Van Diep seems to be working for a kimura but Rodriguez defends the submission attempt. Van Diep missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Diep controlling the action here. Rodriguez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Van Diep is trying to control. That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Diep lands strikes from half guard. Rodriguez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Van Diep. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Van Diep lands a nice short elbow. Van Diep thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rodriguez's head. Van Diep is nestled in close to Rodriguez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Thijs Van Diep has got the better of the ground game so far. Rodriguez is trying to control but Van Diep passes into side control!
Van Diep looks up at the clock and then as Rodriguez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Van Diep smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Van Diep tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Van Diep has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rodriguez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez is not content to let Van Diep control the position. Rodriguez regains half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Van Diep landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rodriguez is defending against the submission attempts here by Van Diep.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rodriguez is trying to control but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Thijs Van Diep comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Van Diep has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
