Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kari Peippo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Mustang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peippo comes into the arena with Public Enemy - Terminator X to the Edge of Panic blaring out of the sound system. Kari Peippo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peippo lands with a good body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Peippo. Mustang does a little dance to reset his feet.
Peippo misses with a low kick.
Kari Peippo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peippo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Peippo just misses with a punch to the body.

Peippo throws a combination. Mustang tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mustang thows a left - swing and a miss!
Peippo darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Mustang throws a body punch but Peippo moves out of range.

Kari Peippo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Mustang.
Mustang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Peippo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mustang seems to have recovered his senses.
Peippo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mustang stacks Peippo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mustang!
Peippo tries to buck Mustang off but Mustang is having none of it.
Peippo can't do much from the bottom here.
Mustang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mustang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Peippo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mustang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Peippo is controlling Mustang's trapped leg to prevent Mustang from advancing to side control.

Mustang drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mustang jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mustang shoots in for a double leg but Peippo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mustang closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Peippo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Peippo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

so Mustang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mustang's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kari Peippo dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mustang shoots for a double leg takedown but Peippo sprawls well. He's pushed Mustang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice takedown defense from Peippo. No joy for Mustang on that attempt.

Peippo leaves Mustang with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mustang shoots in and bounces Peippo off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Peippo has his foot on Mustang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mustang works his way back into a safe position though.
Peippo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mustang doesn't defend quickly enough and Peippo has managed to lock this one up! Can Mustang escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Peippo on a fantastic submission victory.
