Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mano Pacquiai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mano Pacquiai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mano Pacquiai!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pacquiai gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Garcia looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Garcia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Garcia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garcia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pacquiai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Garcia postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pacquiai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Garcia, into his guard.

Garcia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pacquiai tries to free his leg and advance position but Garcia is retaining full guard.

Pacquiai stands and steps away. Garcia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Garcia wants to control but Pacquiai is having none of it.

Garcia gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Pacquiai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Garcia is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pacquiai pulls his head out easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Pacquiai counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Garcia is trying to pull guard but Pacquiai turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Pacquiai has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Garcia regains guard immediately.

Garcia is looking for a triangle but Pacquiai pushes his legs off easily.

Pacquiai slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mano Pacquiai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Pacquiai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Pacquiai feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pacquiai wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.

Pacquiai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Garcia can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pacquiai controls the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mano Pacquiai was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Garcia shoots for a double leg takedown but Pacquiai sprawls well. He's pushed Garcia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pacquiai gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pacquiai avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Pacquiai wants to sweep here but Garcia controlling him for the moment.

Garcia throws a strike but Pacquiai rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garcia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pacquiai's guard.

Garcia not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Pacquiai pushes Garcia off looking to stand but Garcia dives back in and keeps control.
Garcia passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pacquiai!
Pacquiai is looking to improve his position but Garcia isn't that keen on the idea.
Miguel Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pacquiai wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Garcia.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Pacquiai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
