The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cage tries to clinch and Mont Alvernne counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mont Alvernne. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mont Alvernne tries to free his leg and advance position but Cage is retaining full guard. Mont Alvernne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mont Alvernne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mont Alvernne preventing the sweep. Cage is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

We're going to have a standup here because Charlie Mont Alvernne wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mont Alvernne dives in and grabs Cage's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cage pushes down on Mont Alvernne's head and hops out. Mont Alvernne closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cage's guard. Mont Alvernne wants to pass the guard but Cage is keeping the position. Cage working a defensive guard here.

Mont Alvernne taking some punishment here, with Cage in his half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cage is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mont Alvernne has hold of Cage's hands but Cage slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mont Alvernne is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Cage is tapping! Great win for Mont Alvernne!
