Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soham Roy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Donigan! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Roy misses with a head kick.
Sloppy strikes from Donigan. Those never looked like landing. Donigan gets caught napping as Roy dives in and scores a takedown. Donigan manages to retain guard. Donigan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Roy trying to control the position from guard on top but Donigan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Donigan controls Roy momentarily but Roy frees himself. Roy looking to pass the guard. Donigan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony Donigan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Donigan throws a head kick that misses. Roy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Roy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Donigan throws a right hand that Roy ducks under and follows up with a left that Roy also avoids with ease. Roy lands a really nice looking cross but Donigan seems unphased.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy shoots in for a double leg but Donigan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Donigan looks to land a combination but Roy avoids it well. Excellent takedown into side control there by Roy. Roy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Donigan on the ground. Roy working away. Donigan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Donigan pushes Roy off and gets back to his feet. Tony Donigan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roy wants to clinch up but Donigan keeps it at a distance. Tony Donigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Donigan throws a lazy head kick and Roy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Donigan gets full guard. Roy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Donigan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Donigan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! That's two minutes gone in the round. Roy tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Donigan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Roy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roy tries to get out of the position. Donigan prevents Roy from getting the reversal. Roy tries to control Donigan's body but Donigan pushes him off. Roy squirms to his side and now Donigan has his back! Roy is in bad spot here.
Roy wants to get back to his feet. Roy trying to control the hands but Donigan breaks the grip. Donigan is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Roy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy wants to control his opponent's hands but Donigan gets his hands free. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Roy wants to get back to his feet. Donigan has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Donigan trying to control momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donigan is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Roy trying to control the action but Donigan just sinks the hooks in. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Donigan is trying to push Roy away but Roy has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Roy shoots in looking for a takedown but Donigan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Roy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roy is defended easily by Donigan. Roy doesn't manage to clinch there - Donigan circles away.

Donigan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Roy! Donigan breaks from Roy's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Donigan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Roy doesn't escape. Donigan is looking to control Roy but Roy is wriggling around and keeping busy. Roy looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Donigan gets his hands free as Roy looks to control. Roy tries to break free.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Donigan wants to control but Roy is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Soham Roy will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Donigan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Donigan is trying to maintain the position but Roy is very close to passing his half guard. Donigan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Donigan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Roy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roy. Roy wants to stand but Donigan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Donigan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Donigan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Roy throwing strikes from guard but Donigan blocks nicely. Donigan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Soham Roy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Roy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Donigan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Donigan uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Roy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Donigan throws a series of punches but Roy moves out of range. Roy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Roy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Donigan quickly recovers to half guard. Roy trying to advance position but Donigan counters by regaining guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Donigan is on top in guard.
Donigan stands and steps away. Roy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
