4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Jackson! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson connects with the punch. Jackson throws a hook but Malapitan blocks it. Jackson works Malapitan's body with a nice hook. Malapitan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson. Jackson fails to land with a series of punches.
A combination from Jackson does no damage. Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malapitan moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jackson lands a glancing blow to the side of Malapitan's head. Jackson looks to land a combination but Malapitan avoids it well. Jackson throws a head kick that misses and Malapitan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Malapitan. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Malapitan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jackson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jackson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Malapitan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson misses with a wild body shot. A combination from Jackson does no damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malapitan. Omar Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss. Omar Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Raje Malapitan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Malapitan fails to land the takedown. Jackson lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Malapitan goes down and covers up as Jackson starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
