1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ivan Dragovich! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dragovich cracks Broyles with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like Scott Broyles has been cut. Broyles shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dragovich napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dragovich is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Broyles is controlling him well. Broyles working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Broyles happy to just control the position for now. Broyles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Broyles tries to advance to mount but can't.

Dragovich fending off the submission attempt from Broyles. Dragovich looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dragovich is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Broyles gets his way!
Broyles is persistently looking for the submission but Dragovich is defending it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dragovich is trying to stand back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Broyles is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dragovich defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Broyles tries to close the distance and clinch but Dragovich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Broyles moves into range and clinches up with Dragovich. Broyles lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Dragovich is looking to escape. Dragovich kicks off Broyles and gets to his feet. Dragovich scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Broyles has closed the distance and engaged Dragovich in a clinch.
Broyles is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dragovich is defending well for now. Broyles lands a nice uppercut. Dragovich wants to get back to striking at distance but Broyles won't allow it.

Scott Broyles has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Dragovich slaps away a takedown attempt from Broyles, before circling back to the center of the mat. Broyles drives through and clinches with Dragovich against the cage.

Dragovich keeping moving, preventing Broyles from controlling successfully. Broyles is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Broyles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dragovich for as long as he can get away with. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Broyles stops Dragovich from standing up. Dragovich keeping moving, preventing Broyles from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sloppy strikes from Dragovich. Those never looked like landing. Dragovich looks to land a combination but Broyles avoids it well. Dragovich misses with a series of wild punches.
Broyles moves into the clinch. Broyles presses Dragovich against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dragovich tries to break the clinch but Broyles is controlling the position. Broyles tries to score a body lock takedown but Dragovich shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Dragovich has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Broyles tries to pull guard but Dragovich holds him up against the cage and eventually Broyles drops back down to his feet.
Dragovich is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Dragovich wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Dragovich manages to break the clinch.
Broyles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dragovich tries to escape but Broyles is in control.

Broyles is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Dragovich will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Broyles is working to tighten is grip on Dragovich's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Dragovich has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Broyles is really squeezing tight and eventually Dragovich passes out! Broyles breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
