Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nisse Nyberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jefferson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gladys Knight - Midnight train to Georgia. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Jefferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nisse Nyberg!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyberg fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nyberg takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jefferson throws a hook to the side of Nyberg's head but Nyberg sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nyberg looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nyberg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Jefferson misses.
Nyberg lands a really nice looking cross but Jefferson seems unphased.
Nyberg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nyberg tries to close the distance and clinch but Jefferson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Michael Jefferson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nisse Nyberg.

Nyberg tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jefferson swivels and escapes.

Jefferson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nyberg manages to avoid it.

and Jefferson counters with a right hand to the body.

Jefferson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nyberg is staying active underneath Jefferson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jefferson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
