The bell rings for round one and we are underway! May connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kingston lands a nice leg kick that just misses May's sensitive parts. May tried to score with a low kick but Kingston checks it. Nice takedown defense from May. No joy for Kingston on that attempt. May throws a good cross that connects.
Kingston shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. May manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kingston passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kingston grinds an elbow into May's temple. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kingston controls the position. May could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Kingston. Kingston decides to stand back up. Kingston tries to clinch but May moves away and May counters with a left and a right that stings Kingston. Kingston fails in his attempt to clinch. Kingston is looking to clinch but May is avoiding it.
Nice sprawl there from May as Kingston shoots in. Kingston lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but May circles away quickly and effectively. Kingston has a takedown stuffed. Ralphie May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Kingston. Kingston fails to land the takedown. May bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! May throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kingston. Kingston moves in looking to clinch but May pushes him off. May works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kingston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around May's waist but May gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kingston off to one side. Kingston looks gassed! May leaves Kingston with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kingston dodges the punch combination from May.
May throws a head kick that misses. Kingston misses with a wild body shot. May works over Kingston's head and body with a nice combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston throws a left and a right that both miss
and May counters with a nice uppercut. A nice combination there by May.
Some bone on bone action there as Kingston checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. May throws a shot to the body.
May plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Kingston to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Kingston just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
