Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Goran Horvat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cantrell Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Goran Horvat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cantrell Willis!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis walks into a stiff left hand from Horvat.
Horvat waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Willis.
Horvat fails to land with a series of punches.
Horvat throws an off balance right hand
and Willis finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Horvat. Willis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Willis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Horvat throws out the jab.
Horvat throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Horvat misses with a right hand
letting Willis counter with a right hand.
Willis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Horvat. Those never looked like landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Willis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Willis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Horvat works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Horvat trying to control the position.
Willis is working Horvat over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Horvat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Willis controls the pace.
Willis prevents Horvat from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Willis slips nicely into half guard.
Horvat has hold of Willis's hands but Willis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Horvat is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horvat avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Willis.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Willis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Horvat with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Willis in particular looking to stall.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Willis lands a nice short elbow.

Willis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Willis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Horvat on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Horvat tries to get out of the position.
Willis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.


Horvat is rocked!
Willis controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Horvat is out! Willis gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!
