Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Christopher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darth Penguin!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penguin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Christopher counters by moving into the clinch.
Christopher is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Penguin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Christopher lands a nice knee to the body.
Christopher goes for a takedown in the clinch but Penguin prevents it.
Christopher lands with a right to the head.
Christopher has Penguin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Christopher pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Penguin tumbling to the mat - Christopher dives into Penguin's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Christopher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Christopher circles away from the clinch attempt
and Christopher counters with a nice kick to the body.
Christopher lands with a thumping leg kick.
Penguin blocks a head kick by Christopher.
Christopher gets a double leg takedown into Penguin's guard.
Penguin is controlling Christopher's posture.

Christopher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penguin is keeping the position for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Penguin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Christopher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Penguin controls Christopher momentarily but Christopher frees himself.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penguin tries to clinch up but Christopher circles away and keeps his distance.

Christopher lands with a slapping head kick.
Christopher swats away the attempt to clinch by Penguin.
Christopher throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Christopher throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Darth Penguin has been cut.
Christopher throws a head kick that misses.
Penguin is looking to clinch but Christopher is avoiding it.
Christopher throws a head kick but Penguin moves out of range.
Christopher goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Penguin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Christopher's waist but Christopher gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penguin off to one side.
Christopher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Christopher shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Christopher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Penguin avoids the head kick by Christopher.

Christopher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Christopher slows the pace down in half guard.
Penguin is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Christopher is taking a breather. Penguin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bryan Christopher has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Christopher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Christopher throws a nice head kick!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Christopher misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Darth Penguin's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Penguin is rocked!
Christopher is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Penguin hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
