Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phat Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Jones struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 137.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Young bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Young is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Young thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Phat Young dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Young. Young shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Phat Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones shoots and misses and Young counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Young. Young drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard. Young working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Young working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Young is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Young is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
