Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean LeBeuf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Poppy!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poppy throws the left hand but LeBeuf avoids the punch easily.
LeBeuf ducks under a wild hook from Poppy.
Poppy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Some wild striking there from Poppy.
Poppy connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between LeBeuf's hands.
It looks like Jean LeBeuf has been cut.
Poppy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Poppy misses with a body shot.
Nick Poppy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poppy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by LeBeuf.
LeBeuf ducks under a wild hook from Poppy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
LeBeuf takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
LeBeuf is rocked!
Poppy misses with a looping left.
Oh LeBeuf is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
LeBeuf closes the distance and clinches up with Poppy, looking for a takedown. LeBeuf pushes Poppy against the cage but Poppy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
LeBeuf seems to have got his legs back now.
Poppy circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops LeBeuf to the canvas! LeBeuf doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Poppy keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Poppy!
