Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Simoes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard cracks Simoes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Rafael Simoes has been cut.
Big Bastard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bastard misses with a hook to the body
and Simoes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bastard lands a nice hook to Simoes's body. Simoes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bastard throws a hook but Simoes blocks it.

Bastard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Simoes on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Simoes dives in and grabs Bastard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bastard pushes down on Simoes's head and hops out.
Simoes closes the distance and clinches.
Simoes is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Simoes can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Bastard wants to get back to striking at distance but Simoes won't allow it.
Bastard has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Bastard drops Simoes with a beautiful combination! Simoes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bastard is looking for the KO!

Bastard looks to land a left hand but Simoes moved out of range nicely.
Oh Simoes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Simoes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bastard throws out a loose jab but Simoes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Simoes ducks under a wild hook from Bastard.
A telegraphed right hand from Bastard misses the target.
Bastard plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Simoes to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Simoes just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
