Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wasted Youth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson's entrance music is Mamma Said Knock You Out. A fine choice. Wasted Youth told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quinton Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wasted Youth! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson is looking to clinch but Youth is avoiding it.
Youth misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson feints and as Youth raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Youth swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson trying to control but Youth is working from the bottom. Youth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. Youth uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Youth is avoiding it.
Johnson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Youth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Johnson manages to get to full guard.
Youth throws and elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Youth's guard. Nice move by Johnson! Youth wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Youth controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself. Johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Youth looking for a sweep. Not yet Youth, not yet. Youth keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Youth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. Johnson stands and throws Youth's legs to the side, diving into side control. Youth is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it. Johnson misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Youth keeps the fight on the outside. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Youth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A slapping leg kick lands for Johnson.
Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Youth sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Johnson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson is breathing heavily. Youth trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
Youth won't allow Johnson to pass to mount. Johnson is working for a kimura but Youth is defending it quite comfortably.
Youth regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Youth has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Youth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Youth. Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Youth lands a decent shot there. Youth is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Youth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Youth seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Youth changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Youth manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson cracks Youth with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Johnson throws the left hand but Youth avoids the punch easily. Johnson shoots and misses and Youth decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard. Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Johnson is looking for a triangle but Youth pushes his legs off easily.
Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Youth can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Youth avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Quinton Johnson will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Johnson gets the takedown into side control. Johnson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Youth to see if he's OK. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Youth is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Youth has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Youth is not content to let Johnson control the position. Youth is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Youth manages to work his way to half guard, despite Johnson's best efforts. Youth wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.

Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Youth to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson working the body and head with strikes. Youth prevents Johnson from moving into mount. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Youth is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Youth is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnson off and has taken his back! Youth has the hooks in. Johnson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Good control from Youth. The referee is taking a good look at Johnson as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Youth!
Johnson grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Youth is landing with strikes from the back. Youth throwing damaging strikes from the back! Johnson could be in trouble here!
Youth scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Johnson is looking for a way out. Johnson is covering up but some of the strikes from Youth are getting through and doing damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Let's hope that Youth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Youth's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Youth is trying to stick to Johnson's back but Johnson is turning into Youth. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Youth's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Johnson. Youth looking for a sweep. Not yet Youth, not yet. Johnson postures up.

A close second round but Wasted Youth will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Johnson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Johnson lands with a cross. Johnson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Youth which made him look bad. Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Youth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Youth trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Youth is proving a slippery customer.

Johnson with a poor takedown and Youth counters with a nice uppercut. Wasted Youth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Johnson there. Johnson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wasted Youth has got the better of the ground game so far. Youth wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Youth dives on top into guard. Johnson looking to control.
Youth stands up from guard. Let's bang! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Youth drops Johnson with a left and a right! Oh, Johnson is hurt - Youth dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Quinton Johnson has been cut. Youth is working Johnson over with some ground and pound from side control. Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Youth takes a little break here. Johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Johnson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Johnson actively working from the bottom here. Youth stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Youth clinches with his opponent.
Youth tries to pull guard but Johnson holds him up against the cage and eventually Youth drops back down to his feet.
Youth wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but Youth persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the cage. Youth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Youth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Johnson's head. Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Youth controls the pace.
