The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva manages to work his way to half guard, despite Oliveira's best efforts.

Silva kicks Oliveira off and gets to his feet.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oliveira as he jumps to the side.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but Oliveira shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Oliveira throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Oliveira, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Oliveira against the cage but Oliveira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oliveira moves into range and connects with a jab.
Oliveira throws a left that rocks Silva and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Oliveira dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Silva regain composure!
Oliveira stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.
Oliveira lands with a nice body punch.
Oliveira throws a one two combo.
Silva is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Oliveira sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Oliveira finish him?
Oliveira walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Silva drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Oliveira swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Silva's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodrigo Oliveira!
After winning the bout, Rodrigo Oliveira thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
