Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chen Zhen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Frank is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chen Zhen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Max Frank! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zhen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frank circles away. Zhen tries to bum rush Frank with a series of wild strikes but Frank uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Zhen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Zhen doesn't manage to clinch there - Frank circles away.
Zhen lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Zhen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Zhen shoots for a takedown but Frank saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Zhen misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zhen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Zhen closes the distance and pushes Frank back into the cage. Zhen is trying to break the clinch but Frank has him pressed against the cage. Frank is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Zhen pulls him back up using the underhooks. Frank is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Zhen can't fight it off and eventually Frank manages to take the fight to the floor. Zhen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Frank trying to control but Zhen is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zhen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Zhen wants to stand and escape but Frank is having none of it. Frank must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Frank content to stall in guard here. Frank's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Max Frank wasn't active enough on the ground. Zhen slaps away a takedown attempt from Frank, before circling back to the center of the mat. Zhen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chen Zhen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zhen tries to clinch up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zhen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zhen doesn't manage to clinch there - Frank circles away.

Frank drives through and clinches with Zhen against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Frank effectively controlling the action here. Zhen is trying to force a seperation but Frank has the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chen Zhen will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Frank gets a double leg takedown into Zhen's guard. Frank slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Frank wants to pass the guard but Zhen is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zhen wants to get back to his feet but Frank is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Zhen controls Frank momentarily but Frank frees himself. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frank accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Zhen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frank defends it easily. Frank trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Frank sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zhen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Frank seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Frank tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zhen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Zhen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Frank circles away quickly and effectively. Zhen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zhen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A big left from Zhen misses. A bone on bone clash there as Frank blocks the leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Zhen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zhen is looking to clinch. Frank keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Frank fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Frank fails in his attempt to clinch. Zhen throws a right and a left that both miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Max Frank will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Zhen throws a body kick that misses. Zhen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Frank counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Zhen's guard now. Frank sitting in guard here, content to control. Zhen trying to keep a closed guard but Frank is proving a slippery customer.
Frank content to stall in guard here. Zhen wants to sweep here but Frank controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zhen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Frank is controlling him. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Frank is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Zhen misses the shot to the body. Zhen looks to land a right hand but Frank moved out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Frank misses with a takedown attempt - Zhen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Zhen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Frank counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Frank slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Frank throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Frank slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Frank throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zhen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Frank pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zhen is keeping the position for now. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Frank trying to control but Zhen is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Frank shoots in and drives through. Zhen sprawls well. Zhen wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zhen throws a leg kick but Frank sees it coming and moves out of range. Frank just misses with a punch to the body.
Chen Zhen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Frank fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chen Zhen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Frank. Zhen moves in looking to clinch but Frank pushes him off.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Frank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Frank has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
