Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Kopec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kopec comes to the cage accompanied by Boats 'N Hoes. Guy Kopec has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guida displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kopec throws out the jab. Guida takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Guida fails with an attempt to clinch.

It looks like Clay Guida has been cut. Guida on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Guida dives in and scores a takedown into Kopec's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Guida working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Guida's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kopec wants to stand and escape but Guida is having none of it. Kopec pushes Guida off and scrambles back to his feet.
Guida closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Guida lands in his opponent's guard. Guida trying to control but Kopec is working from the bottom. Kopec really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kopec wants to get back to his feet but Guida is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kopec utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guida is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kopec is looking to stand up but Guida isn't so interested in that idea. Guida has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kopec has momentary wrist control but Guida slips an elbow through the middle. Guida stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kopec swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kopec wants to get back to his feet but Guida passes into half guard.
Guida is looking for a kimura but Kopec is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guida to get the leverage. Kopec wants to get back to his feet. Guida trying to pass the guard but Kopec defending well. Guida is working for a submission of some sort.
Guida thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kopec's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kopec wants to get back to his feet. Guida looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Guida seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kopec has one foot on Guida's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Guida fails with a takedown attempt. Kopec is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Kopec stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Guida is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kopec sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kopec scores with a shot to the body.
Clay Guida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut there from Kopec. Kopec leaves Guida with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Guy Kopec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clay Guida. A big right from Kopec misses. Guida misses with a takedown attempt and Kopec counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Guida takes one to the chin there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kopec, right into the meat.
Kopec scores with a one two! Guida had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Guida is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kopec measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Guida! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Guy Kopec! Guy Kopec bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
