Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alvin Lilke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nathin Q!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilke lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Lilke drives through and clinches with Q against the cage.

Lilke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Q misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lilke.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Lilke goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Q rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lilke's guard! Nice work there by Q!
Q looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nathin Q wasn't active enough on the ground.

Q is trying to pull guard but Lilke has him pressed against the cage.

Alvin Lilke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathin Q.

Lilke slaps away a takedown attempt from Q, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lilke tries to clinch but Q is having none of it.

Q is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lilke's half guard.

Lilke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Q is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Q seems to be working for a kimura but Lilke defends the submission attempt.

Q drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Q jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alvin Lilke will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lilke tries to bum rush Q with a series of wild strikes but Q uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Q counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lilke's guard now.
Lilke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Q postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Nathin Q has got the better of the ground game so far.

Q drops back looking for a leg! Lilke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lilke manages to kick Q off! Q jumps back into Lilke's guard.

Lilke throws a jab when Q was well out of range.
Q takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Q darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Q sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lilke defending well though.

Q is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nathin Q showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lilke doesn't manage to clinch there - Q circles away.

Lilke drives through and clinches with Q against the cage.
Q tries to pull guard but Lilke holds him up against the cage and eventually Q drops back down to his feet.

Q dodges the punch combination from Lilke.
Alvin Lilke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Q wants to control from the top but Lilke keeps moving.
Q chips away with some ground and pound.
Q postures up in Lilke's guard and throws a big left but Lilke blocks it.

Lilke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Q drops back looking for a leg! Lilke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lilke manages to kick Q off! Q jumps back into Lilke's guard.

Q wants to control from the top but Lilke keeps moving.
Q has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nice sprawl there from Q as Lilke shoots in.
Q leaves Lilke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lilke throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Q decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lilke's guard.
Q is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Q drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lilke looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lilke looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lilke!
Q manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lilke wants to improve his position but Q is controlling well.
Still in half guard, Q seems content to control.
Q moves into full mount! Lilke won't be happy about that!

Lilke defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Q.

Q has hold of Lilke's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lilke manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lilke is in all sorts of trouble here.
Q throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lilke because Q loaded up on that one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Q working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Lilke is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Q has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Lilke taps out!
