Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bi Han! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny O Donnelly! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Donnelly tries to clinch but Han moves away and Han counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Han pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A head kick misses from Han. O Donnelly on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Han. Han obviously looking to wear him down.
Han stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from O Donnelly. Han misses with a head kick.
Nice uppercut there from Han. O Donnelly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
O Donnelly doesn't manage to clinch there - Han circles away.
A head kick from O Donnelly lands but Han takes it in his stride.
It looks like Bi Han has been cut. Danny O Donnelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. O Donnelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Han as he jumps to the side. O Donnelly moves in looking to clinch but Han pushes him off. O Donnelly looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Han circles away from the clinch attempt.
O Donnelly shoots in for a takedown but Han shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. O Donnelly is trying hard to land a takedown here. Han sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bi Han has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny O Donnelly. Han avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Han swats away the attempt to clinch by O Donnelly. Han connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between O Donnelly's hands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Han lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fight stays on the outside here - O Donnelly looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bi Han is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Han scores with a nice head shot.
O Donnelly is rocked! Han lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks O Donnelly out cold! O Donnelly is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bi Han! Bi Han gave a mention to Down Under! - Supplements (AXES) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
