Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gnome Chomsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Nero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chomsky comes into the arena with System Of A Down - Sugar blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gnome Chomsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The Nero! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nero misses with a takedown attempt - Chomsky sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nero tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chomsky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nero somewhat. Nero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chomsky. Gnome Chomsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nero tries for a takedown but Chomsky sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gnome Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Nero. Chomsky is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nero's half guard. Chomsky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nero keeps working. Chomsky is looking for a kimura but Nero is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chomsky to get the leverage. Chomsky is working for a kimura but Nero is defending it quite comfortably.
Chomsky is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nero is just riding it out for now. Chomsky eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chomsky is looking to take a break and control but Nero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chomsky keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Nero tries to kick Chomsky off but Chomsky keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Chomsky controlling the pace. Chomsky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chomsky passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nero! Chomsky controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nero is trying to stand. Nero defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chomsky. Nero tries to lock up and control but Chomsky gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Chomsky is working for a guillotine from mount but Nero frees his head quite easily.
You get the feeling that Nero really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Chomsky working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Chomsky is working for a guillotine from mount but Nero frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chomsky jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nero manages to avoid the submission attempt. Chomsky working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Nero can't do much from the bottom here.

Gnome Chomsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chomsky controlling his opponent. Chomsky can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nero is looking to escape.

Chomsky is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nero to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nero shrugs it off. Nero has his takedown stuffed and Chomsky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nero keeping moving, preventing Chomsky from controlling successfully. Chomsky slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Chomsky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Chomsky drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Chomsky as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Nero screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Chomsky! Nice submission victory there!
