Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saul Laski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Sonny!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonny moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like Saul Laski has been cut.
Laski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sonny sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laski somewhat.
Sonny shoots in and drives through. Laski sprawls well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Laski.

Laski gets caught flat footed, as Sonny shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sonny trying to control but Laski is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonny is looking to work some ground and pound but Laski has wrist control.
Sonny is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Laski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sonny's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sonny is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sonny really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Laski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sonny can do anything to dispel that myth.

Laski wants to control from the top but Sonny keeps moving.
Laski throws a big elbow that misses.
Laski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Laski looking to sit in guard and control but Sonny gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sonny wants to control from the top but Laski keeps moving.

Laski wants to finish this one by submission but Sonny is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Laski.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laski throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sonny because Laski loaded up on that one.
Laski unloads with some shots from mount but Sonny bucks and avoids them well.
You get the feeling that Sonny really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Laski scoring with strikes but Sonny is staying in there.
Sonny is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Laski lands a big shot there that rocks Sonny but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Laski won't let Sonny get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Saul Laski will probably get the nod.

Laski shoots in for a takedown but Sonny shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Laski fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saul Laski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laski walks into a stiff left hand from Sonny.
Sonny lands a jab to Laski's midsection.
Sonny throws a nice looking combination but Laski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sonny will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Saul Laski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Laski tries to clinch but Sonny moves out of range.
Laski shoots for a takedown but Sonny saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Laski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A punch lands to the side of Laski 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laski shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Sonny is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Sonny shuts the power down on Laski. Lights out, game over! Sonny is your winner.
