Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fap Soup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ippo Makunouchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fap Soup!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Makunouchi is defended easily by Soup.
Soup lands with a nice combination. Makunouchi backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Ippo Makunouchi has been cut.

Makunouchi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Soup looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Soup is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The referee asks Makunouchi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Makunouchi prefers to stall for the moment though.
Soup is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Soup's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Makunouchi is landing with some decent strikes but Soup is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Makunouchi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Soup sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Makunouchi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Makunouchi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Makunouchi lands in his opponent's guard.
Soup is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Makunouchi is controlling him.

Makunouchi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Makunouchi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soup but Soup pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Makunouchi shoots for a double leg takedown but Soup sprawls well. He's pushed Makunouchi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Makunouchi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
