Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junior Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay has chosen Atari Teenage Riot - Revolution Action as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Sanchez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Curtis Clay!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez slips a straight right by Clay.
Clay throws out a loose jab but Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Clay swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sanchez tries a low kick but Clay avoids it.
Clay fails to land with a series of punches.
Sanchez tries to clinch there but Clay circles away.

Clay scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Clay trying to control the action but Sanchez is working from the bottom.
A control attempt from Sanchez but he's now mounted!
Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Clay tries to control but Sanchez wriggling away.

Sanchez is trying to escape the mount.
Clay raining down shots from the mount!


It looks like Junior Sanchez has been cut.
Sanchez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poor strikes thrown by Clay there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Clay unloads with some shots from mount but Sanchez bucks and avoids them well.
Clay throwing strikes here but Sanchez is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.

Clay punching from mount but Sanchez doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Sanchez is looking to improve his position but Clay isn't that keen on the idea.
Clay throws some wild stikes that Sanchez manages to avoid easily.
Clay pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sanchez is looking to get to half guard.
Clay thowing shots but they're missing.

Clay looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Clay throws some wild stikes that Sanchez manages to avoid easily.
Sanchez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Clay.

Clay controlling the pace for now.

Junior Sanchez's cut is getting worse.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez blocking the ground and pound.
Clay throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sanchez because Clay loaded up on that one.
Clay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanchez avoids a series of strikes thrown by Clay.
Clay tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Clay goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sanchez is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clay has a closed guard, preventing Sanchez from standing up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sanchez's guard.
Clay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanchez keeping moving, preventing Clay from controlling successfully.
Sanchez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Clay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sanchez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Clay advances position into side control!
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet but Clay drags him back down.
Check out the look on Clay's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!


Jeez, Junior Sanchez's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Junior Sanchez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Curtis Clay!
