Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Lynch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Henry Weber! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Weber darts in trying to clinch and Lynch counters with a shoot takedown. Weber fights it but they end up in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Lynch tries to free his leg and advance position but Weber is retaining full guard. Weber is striking but Lynch is not phased and passes to half guard. Weber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lynch. Weber wants to get back to his feet.
Lynch wants to take a breather but Weber is having none of it. Lynch is controlling the pace.
Lynch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weber keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Lynch just wasn't active enough. Lynch takes one to the chin there. Lynch throws a leg kick but Weber sees it coming and moves out of range. Weber misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lynch.
Weber closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lynch to the mat! Lynch manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lynch working for a triangle but Weber defends it easily.
Lynch looking for a sweep. Not yet Lynch, not yet. Weber got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lynch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Weber has managed to get both his arms back between Lynch's legs - danger averted. Weber trying to control but Lynch is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynch doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Weber preventing the sweep. Lynch is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Weber rolls with it to try and escape but Lynch cranks on the arm and Weber is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
