Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Po Panda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Panda comes to the cage accompanied by Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas. Po Panda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Po Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Panda circles away.
Panda connects with the punch.
Panda slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Panda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kowalski's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Panda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Panda shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kowalski manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Kowalski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Panda wants to control but Kowalski is having none of it.
Panda holds on to Kowalski around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

Kowalski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Kowalski looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Panda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kowalski on the ground.

Kowalski has control of Panda's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Panda regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kowalski is working for a guillotine from mount but Panda frees his head quite easily.
Po Panda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kowalski is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Panda has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Kowalski moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Panda has worked his arm free - good work by Panda!

Jan Kowalski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kowalski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Panda manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kowalski has Panda in his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kowalski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kowalski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Panda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Panda moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Panda is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kowalski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kowalski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kowalski drops back looking for a leg! Panda is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Panda manages to kick Kowalski off! Kowalski jumps back into Panda's guard.
Panda is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kowalski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Panda is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kowalski, into his guard.

Po Panda showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Panda has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
