Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Slone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric McDowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDowell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. California Love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chad Slone had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDowell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Slone. That did some damage!
McDowell cracks the inside of Slone's front leg.
Slone is looking to clinch.
McDowell throws a head kick but Slone moves out of range.

McDowell closes the distance and clinches.

McDowell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Slone regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Slone manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Slone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McDowell is working to get back to half guard.

McDowell's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
