PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Lesniewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Ian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ian has chosen I Am The Law - Anthrax as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igor Lesniewski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Ian!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesniewski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ian circles away.
Lesniewski looks for a takedown but Ian sprawls well.
Lesniewski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Lesniewski has his foot on Ian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ian works his way back into a safe position though.

Lesniewski wants to hit a switch here but Ian passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lesniewski there!
Ian misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Lesniewski manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ian's guard. Nice work there by Lesniewski.

Lesniewski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ian looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ian looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ian!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lesniewski regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lesniewski pinned against the cage. Lesniewski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ian changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lesniewski tries to avoid it but Ian manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lesniewski to the ground. Lesniewski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ian clinches up with Lesniewski and pushes him back against the cage.
Lesniewski has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ian after a bit of a struggle.

Igor Lesniewski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ian has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Lesniewski's body.

Lesniewski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ian manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lesniewski has Ian in his guard.

Lesniewski shoots in for a double leg but Ian sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
