Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tetsuhiko Asai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Petr Goluch!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goluch circles away from the clinch attempt
and Goluch counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Goluch connects with the punch.

Asai gets a clinch.

Asai's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Asai gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Asai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Goluch is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Asai to the mat. Asai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Asai looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Goluch drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Goluch jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Goluch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Asai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goluch on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Asai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Asai is working hard here to advance position.
Goluch missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Goluch trying to control the position from guard on top but Asai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Asai wants to hit a switch here but Goluch passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Asai there!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Goluch is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Goluch fails with the takedown.
Asai moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Goluch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Goluch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Asai tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Goluch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Asai connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Goluch to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Asai!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tetsuhiko Asai!
