The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Alves, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jackson tests Alves's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Jackson.
Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.

Alves takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

Alves has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jackson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Alves eats them both and turns towards Jackson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcelo Alves will probably get the nod.

Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alves stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Alves walks into a stiff left hand from Jackson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Alves.

Alves shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Alves keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alves goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Alves changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Alves dives in and grabs Jackson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes down on Alves's head and hops out.
Jackson moves out of range as Alves throws a body kick.
Alves shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alves.

I would just about give that final round to Quinton Jackson.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
