Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Down - Stone The Crow. Watts comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Xxplosive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rick Thomas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyrone Watts! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watts looks to land a left hand but Thomas moved out of range nicely. Watts just misses with a punch to the body.
Watts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomas circles away quickly and effectively. Watts takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Watts misses with a wild combination.
Thomas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Watts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thomas swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thomas connects with a body shot that sends Watts's belly button to the back. Thomas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sloppy strikes from Watts. Those never looked like landing. Watts jabbing away but nothing is landing. Thomas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Watts. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Watts with a lazy takedown attempt letting Thomas counter with a right hand. Watts takes one to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watts throws a hook but Thomas blocks it. Tyrone Watts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas ducks under a wild hook from Watts. Thomas shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Thomas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Thomas misses with a body shot.
Thomas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Watts moves out of range of the strikes. Watts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Watts somewhat. Watts throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab. Watts gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Watts does a little dance to reset his feet. Watts throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Watts fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thomas sprawls well initially but Watts persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Watts is keen to just control but Thomas is a slippery customer. Watts throws a strike but Thomas avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Watts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Watts lands a couple of elbows. Watts missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Watts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas keeping moving, preventing Watts from controlling successfully. Watts is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Thomas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Watts manages to get himself to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyrone Watts hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A lazy left from Thomas finds it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watts takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Watts throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thomas lands a nice shot that snaps Watts's head back.
Thomas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Watts. Thomas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Watts. Thomas throws a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Watts ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thomas moves away. Thomas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Watts throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thomas on the side of the head. Watts misses with a double jab
and Thomas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Thomas dominated that round. That's time! Thomas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Watts checks a leg kick. Thomas jabbing away but nothing is landing. Watts looks to land a left hand but Thomas moved out of range nicely. Watts misses with a body shot.
Watts takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Thomas throws a predictable looking body shot
and Watts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Watts walks into a jab. A big left from Thomas misses. Watts just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Thomas. No joy for Watts on that attempt. Sloppy strikes from Watts. Those never looked like landing. Watts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. Watts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Watts is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Wattsis looking to pass into half guard but Thomas pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Thomas is in guard. Thomas looking to pass the guard. Thomas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Thomas wants to pass the guard but Watts is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rick Thomas has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Thomas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Watts at a distance.

Rick Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thomas lands a jab. Some bone on bone action there as Watts checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watts moves out of range as Thomas strikes. Thomas thuds a left hand into Watts's body. Watts on the wrong end of a nice jab. Thomas missing with a left hand there. Watts was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Watts throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Watts misses with a looping right. No luck with that takedown attempt from Watts. Rick Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyrone Watts. Good leg kick by Thomas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Watts shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Thomas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Decent striking displayed by Thomas there. The fighters circling - Watts throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A combination from Thomas does no damage. Thomas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thomas lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Thomas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Watts.
Thomas connects with the punch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sloppy strikes from Watts. Those never looked like landing. Thomas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Watts back to the cage. Thomas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Watts throws a right hand that misses
and Thomas counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Watts walks into a jab. Thomas connects with an inside leg kick. A head kick misses from Thomas. Watts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thomas.

and Thomas counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Watts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. A jab from Watts does it's job there. Watts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Watts somewhat. Watts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Watts just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Thomas misses its intended target. Thomas scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Watts jabbing away but nothing is landing. Thomas scores with a jab. Watts acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rick Thomas is winning the standup battle so far. Decent striking displayed by Thomas there. Watts looks to score with a jab to the body but Thomas is just out of range. Watts throws a body punch but Thomas moves out of range. Watts chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thomas can pounce on him.
Thomas connects with a right hand. Watts shakes it off. Thomas stuns Watts with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas digs a good body shot into Watts's ribs. Thomas drops Watts with a beautiful combination! Watts stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas pounces like a tiger and cracks Watts with a vicious hook! Watts is down but not out! Thomas follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rick Thomas! Rick Thomas retains his middleweight title! In his post fight interview, Rick Thomas started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
