Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Virtua Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikaika Konani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikaika Konani will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konani shoots in and drives through. Bird sprawls well.
Konani connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Konani lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bird tries for a takedown but Konani circles away easily
and Konani counters with a left and a right that stings Bird.
Konani doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bird counters with a shoot takedown. Konani fights it but they end up in guard.
Bird won't allow Konani to sweep him here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Konani avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bird gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Konani counters with a low kick, right behind Bird 's knee.
Bird gets caught flat footed, as Konani shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Konani looks gassed!
Bird has his foot on Konani's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Konani works his way back into a safe position though.

Bird could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Konani wants to control from the top but Bird keeps moving.

Bird is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Konani rolls with it to try and escape but Bird cranks on the arm and Konani is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
