Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Kilimanjaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Hector Kilimanjaro! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kilimanjaro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lee at a distance.
Kilimanjaro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kilimanjaro working the strikes but Lee uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Kilimanjaro wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kilimanjaro trying to control from half guard but Lee is working away. Kilimanjaro passes to full mount! Kilimanjaro is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lee is surviving well by controlling Kilimanjaro's body position as best he can. Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kilimanjaro controlling the position easily from mount. Kilimanjaro prevents Lee from getting the reversal. Kilimanjaro goes for an armbar but Lee turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lee. Lee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lee trying to control but Kilimanjaro is working from the bottom. Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dave Lee. Kilimanjaro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kilimanjaro fails with the takedown and Lee counters with a leg kick. Lee shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kilimanjaro eats them both and turns towards Lee to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The fight stays on the outside here - Kilimanjaro looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hector Kilimanjaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. That's three minutes gone in the round. Kilimanjaro scores with a jab. Lee acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kilimanjaro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center. Good work by Kilimanjaro as he checks the leg kick. Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee shoots in for a double leg but Kilimanjaro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lee scoring well with a low kick there.
Lee looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lee shoots in but Kilimanjaro avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kilimanjaro tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lee gets tackled into the cage by Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro maintains the clinch. Lee misses with a punch to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Kilimanjaro is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kilimanjaro persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kilimanjaro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now. Kilimanjaro trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Kilimanjaro is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lee has escaped and now he's on top! Kilimanjaro trying to keep a closed guard but Lee is proving a slippery customer.

Hector Kilimanjaro dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kilimanjaro is looking to chop away at Lee's legs. Kilimanjaro gets the takedown into side control. Kilimanjaro sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lee is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kilimanjaro trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action here. Lee prevents Kilimanjaro from improving position. Kilimanjaro wants to take a breather but Lee manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kilimanjaro. Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kilimanjaro tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kilimanjaro's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kilimanjaro won't allow Lee to sweep him here. Kilimanjaro chips away with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee keeping moving, preventing Kilimanjaro from controlling successfully. Kilimanjaro showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kilimanjaro drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard. Lee is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kilimanjaro keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Lee stopping the sweep attempt from Kilimanjaro.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lee turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kilimanjaro takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Kilimanjaro tries to clinch up but Lee circles away and keeps his distance. Kilimanjaro misses with a right hand and Lee counters with a good, hard body kick but Kilimanjaro shrugs it off. Kilimanjaro wants to clinch. Kilimanjaro takes one to the chin there. Kilimanjaro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lee at a distance.
Lee avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Kilimanjaro lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kilimanjaro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kilimanjaro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kilimanjaro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lee fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Lee's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lee duly obliges. Kilimanjaro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lee walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kilimanjaro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big right from Kilimanjaro misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kilimanjaro is looking to land body kicks. Kilimanjaro looks to land a combination but Lee avoids it well. Kilimanjaro closes the distance and clinches. Kilimanjaro tries to land knees in the clinch but Lee avoids the damage to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Kilimanjaro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Kilimanjaro tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range. Left hook, right uppercut from Lee. Lee connects with an inside leg kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lee checks a leg kick. Hector Kilimanjaro seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kilimanjaro moves out of range of the leg kick from Lee. Lee looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kilimanjaro! Lee trying to control but Kilimanjaro is having none of it. Lee controlling the pace for now.

Hector Kilimanjaro has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lee is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dave Lee just wasn't active enough. Kilimanjaro shoots in and bounces Lee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kilimanjaro controlling from the top position. Dave Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kilimanjaro looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dave Lee. Well Kilimanjaro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Hector Kilimanjaro! A very excited looking Hector Kilimanjaro rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
