Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Gunner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Morrison! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunner misses with a looping left. A chopping leg kick lands by Gunner. Morrison tries to clinch there but Gunner circles away.
Morrison throws a series of punches but Gunner moves out of range. Gunner throws a head kick but Morrison moves out of range.
Gunner turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Gunner listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Morrison ducks under a wild hook from Gunner. Gunner gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Morrison takes one to the chin there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gunner throws a head kick that misses. Gunner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gunner tries to bum rush Morrison with a series of wild strikes but Morrison uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Morrison checks a low kick from Gunner. Morrison instigates a clinch. Morrison tries for a takedown but Gunner manages to get underhooks.
Morrison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gunner feints and then cracks Morrison's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Morrison down. Gunner walks into a stiff left hand from Morrison. Morrison on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morrison gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Thomas Gunner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morrison ducks under a wild hook from Gunner. Gunner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gunner misses with a low kick.

Morrison fails to land the takedown. Morrison uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gunner. Gunner throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Morrison. Gunner feints and then cracks Morrison's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Morrison down. Morrison fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gunner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Morrison moves out of range as Gunner throws a body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gunner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Morrison misses with a head kick.
Gunner throws a lazy right hand but Morrison sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gunner pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Morrison shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gunner as he avoids it easily. Thomas Gunner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Morrison.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Morrison misses. Morrison shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gunner sprawls well. Gunner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morrison gets slowly back to his feet. Morrison looks gassed! Morrison blocks a head kick by Gunner.

Morrison is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gunner is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Morrison. Gunner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Gunner misses with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Morrison forces Gunner back against the ropes and clinches. Gunner tries to land knees in the clinch but Morrison avoids the damage to the body. Gunner tries to land a knee to the head but Morrison blocks with his arms.
Gunner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morrison. Morrison moves away from the strike by Gunner. Gunner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. An inside leg kick lands from Gunner. A solid leg kick lands there for Gunner.
Gunner throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Morrison sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gunner motions for Morrison to come forward. Gunner throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Morrison scores with a decent looking hook. Gunner misses with a combination
and Morrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Gunner. Those never looked like landing. Morrison gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Gunner trying to land knees to the body.
Gunner tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Morrison avoids it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morrison gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gunner regains guard.
Morrison is looking to work some ground and pound but Gunner has wrist control. Gunner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Gunner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Morrison is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Morrison postures up.
Morrison has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gunner working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Morrison has passed into half guard!
Morrison wants to take a breather but Gunner is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Gunner dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Morrison counters with a lovely straight right hand! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gunner.

Gunner throws an overhand right that lands on Morrison's shoulder, as Morrison tries to avoid the shot. Gunner tries a head kick but it misses.

Gunner gets tackled into the ropes by Morrison. Morrison maintains the clinch. Morrison is trying to drag Gunner to the mat but Gunner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Gunner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gunner scores with a nice strike. Morrison closes the distance and clinches up with Gunner, looking for a takedown. Morrison pushes Gunner against the ropes but Gunner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Thomas Gunner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Morrison. Morrison moves out of range of the strikes. Morrison's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunner jabs at Morrison's body. Morrison is looking to score with low kicks. Thomas Gunner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gunner stalks Morrison and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Morrison's face. Morrison staggers backwards, shaken. Gunner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Morrison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gunner swats him away and circles back towards the center. Morrison checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A slow jab from Morrison misses its intended target. Morrison fails with an attempt to clinch.
Morrison drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Morrison tries to clinch but Gunner moves out of range. Nice shot by Gunner. This has been an exciting period of action! Gunner lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Gunner throws a head kick but Morrison moves out of range.

Gunner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Morrison is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunner misses with a body shot.
Gunner's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Gunner duly obliges. Gunner lands a jab-cross combination. Gunner throws a series of punches but Morrison avoids them all with ease. Morrison defending well as Gunner loads up on a big left hand. Gunner scores with a hook.
Morrison is rocked! Morrison throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gunner was covering up waiting for the punch and Morrison finishes the takedown easily into guard. Morrison pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gunner is keeping the position for now. Gunner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Morrison working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gunner working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunner controls Morrison momentarily but Morrison frees himself. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gunner has an active guard here but Morrison has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunner is looking for a sweep. Morrison is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gunner moves into full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Morrisonis looking to pass into half guard but Gunner pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Gunner is in guard. Morrison is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gunner has his hands clasped together but Morrison extends an breaks Gunner's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Morrison.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jim Morrison! Jim Morrison tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
