Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Zapata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zapata is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tres Delinquentes. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alejandro Zapata enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deshawn Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Zapata!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zapata stuffs the takedown.
Zapata fails to land with a series of punches.
Zapata takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses.
Zapata keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Zapata misses with a low kick.
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Zapata tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zapata manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deshawn Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wallace is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Zapata reverses the position - he's now on top in Wallace's guard.

Wallace is trying to keep Zapata in close.
Wallace is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Deshawn Wallace has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Wallace misses with a leg kick.

Zapata fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wallace doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zapata counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Wallace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zapata tries to avoid it but Wallace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zapata to the ground. Zapata escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

No joy there for Zapata, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Zapata throws out a leg kick but Wallace moves out of range and Zapata only half commits.
Zapata gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wallace to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wallace throws a big right hand that misses.

Zapata keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
Zapata is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Wallace frees his head nicely. Oh but Zapata has switched to an armbar! Wallace is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
