Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Bergeron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephan Dubois! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dubois throws a shot to the body.
Bergeron moves out of range as Dubois strikes. Bergeron shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dubois but Dubois pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bergeron walks into a jab. Bergeron tries to clinch up but Dubois circles away and keeps his distance. Dubois closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bergeron did well to prevent Dubois getting side control. Dubois working the head and body with strikes. Dubois is trying to control. Bergeron wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bergeron taking some punishment here, with Dubois in his half guard. Bergeron is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dubois pulls his head out easily. Dubois has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dubois connects with a nice short shot to Bergeron's temple.

Dubois looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bergeron with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nice strikes from Dubois there. Dubois takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bergeron tries to roll over but Dubois keeps him under control. Bergeron looking for submissions off his back. Dubois trying to control from half guard but Bergeron is working away. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dubois connects with a nice short shot to Bergeron's temple. Bergeron looking for subs from the bottom but Dubois mounts him! Dubois lands a big shot there that rocks Bergeron but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bergeron taking shots to the head. Dubois looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Bergeron covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephan Dubois! Stephan Dubois spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
