4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Karelin! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brown looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Karelin shoots in but Brown avoids the takedown attempt easily. Karelin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Karelin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Karelin wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karelin breaks from Brown's wrist control and lands an elbow. Karelin blocks Brown's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Karelin lands a nice shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karelin fails in his attempt to clinch. Karelin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center. Karelin moves into the clinch successfully.
Karelin lands with a left to the head. Karelin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Brown can't fight it off and eventually Karelin manages to take the fight to the floor. Brown looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Brown keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully. Brown looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karelin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karelin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Karelin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karelin has closed the distance and engaged Brown in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Karelin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Brown is fighting off a takedown attempt but Karelin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Brown to the mat. Brown regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Karelin chips away with some ground and pound. Brown keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully. Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Karelin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Karelin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Karelin moves in looking to clinch but Brown pushes him off. Karelin is looking to clinch but Brown is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Karelin prevents a takedown attempt there.

Brown tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brown controls Karelin momentarily but Karelin frees himself. Brown has his foot on Karelin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karelin works his way back into a safe position though. Karelin is working Brown over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Brown looking for a sweep. Not yet Brown, not yet. Brown is working hard here to advance position. Karelin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Karelin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Brown makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Karelin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Karelin winds up and cracks Brown with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Brown is not content to let Karelin control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Karelin trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. Karelin stopping the sweep attempt from Brown. Karelin lands a couple of digs. Karelin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head. Brown has his takedown stuffed and Karelin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brown's guard now. Karelin trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brown is on top in guard.

Brown drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Karelin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brown has Karelin in his guard. Karelin won't allow Brown to sweep him here. Karelin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head. Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Brown lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Karelin! Karelin tries to lock up and control but Brown gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexander Karelin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Karelin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
