Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Give My Bullet Back. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald scoring well with a low kick there.
Li gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McDonald counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Li is lucky that one didn't land flush.
McDonald tries to land a leg kick but Li saw it coming and moves away.
Li ducks right into an uppercut from McDonald.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Li looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McDonald throws a wild body kick that Li sees coming a mile off.
Li has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from McDonald.

Li dives in and grabs McDonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. McDonald pushes down on Li's head and hops out.

Li shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
McDonald scores with a hook to the body. Li takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Li is breathing heavily.
McDonald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Li shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDonald but McDonald pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Li. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
McDonald throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Li on the side of the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Li shoots in but no luck this time.
Li shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McDonald as he avoids it easily.
McDonald goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Li takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

James Li's cut is getting worse.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McDonald gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Li thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McDonald looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McDonald is on top in guard.
Li has a closed guard, preventing McDonald from standing up.

McDonald lands a nice leg kick that just misses Li's sensitive parts.
McDonald fails to land with a series of punches.

Li shoots in but McDonald avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McDonald throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Li walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McDonald pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Li changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McDonald tries to avoid it but Li manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McDonald to the ground. McDonald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd cheers as McDonald lands an impressive looking overhand right. Li doesn't seem phased though.

Li is trying hard to land a takedown here. McDonald sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McDonald stuns Li with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Li's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

As Nate McDonald got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: If it's not Scottish....It's crrrrrrap!'.
