Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Wright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyrone Bate! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circle momentarily. Bate darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A left lands for Bate. Wright takes a swing at Bate's ribcage but misses. Wright takes a swing at Bate's ribcage but misses. A good leg kick by Bate. Wright shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bate defends it nicely. Bate connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Wright wants to clinch up but Bate keeps it at a distance. Bate lands a leg kick that knocks Wright off balance momentarily. Wright looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bate is fending him off so far but Wright persists. Nope, Bate circles away and we're back to standing. Bate misses with a body shot.
Wright shoots in looking for a takedown. Bate tries to sprawl out of it but Wright keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bate manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Wright. "Ole!" shouts Bate as he jumps to the side. Bate connects with a nice looking jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bate's head. Wright wants to pass to mount but Bate is defending the position. Bate is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bate scores with a punch to the head. Bate scores with a leg kick.

Wright takes a kick to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wright wants to clinch up but Bate keeps it at a distance. Bate tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wright was well out of range. Poor timing from Bate. Bate looks to throw the jab but Wright is out of range. Wright misses with a takedown attempt and Bate counters with a body kick that stops Wright in his tracks momentarily. Wright dives in and scores a takedown into Bate's guard. Wright is breathing heavily. Bate working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wright doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wright manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bate goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Bate lands a right hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! Tyrone Bate comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bate has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Tyrone Bate wins by unanimous decision! In his post fight interview, Tyrone Bate started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
