Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jherome Depasion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to clinch
and Depasion counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smith's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Smith thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Smith moves in looking to clinch but Depasion pushes him off.

Smith throws a head kick that Depasion semi-blocks.
Depasion closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Depasion pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Smith takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Smith has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Depasion after a bit of a struggle.
Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Depasion walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Depasion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Depasion drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Depasion has Smith in his guard.
Jherome Depasion has got the better of the ground game so far.
Depasion working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Depasion pinned against the cage. Depasion gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Depasion tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Depasion to the ground. Depasion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smith decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Depasion takes the fight into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Smith - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Depasion has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
