Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Blankenship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blankenship's choice of entrance music: Crazy Train. Rogers is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Blankenship! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blankenship tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rogers paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rogers is breathing heavily. Blankenship is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rogers forces Blankenship back against the cage and clinches. Blankenship has Rogers pushed against the cage. Blankenship wants to get back to striking at distance but Rogers won't allow it.
Blankenship's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Rogers has had enough of the clinch but Blankenship keeps him there for the moment. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Still in the clinch, Blankenship scores with a nice short uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of stalling here from Blankenship.

Blankenship looking to throw knees to the head but Rogers is blocking nicely.

Blankenship lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rogers backwards. Blankenship is stalling here.
Blankenship working hard to break the clinch. Blankenship is trying to break the clinch but Rogers has him pressed against the cage. Rogers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blankenship tries to clinch up but Rogers circles away and keeps his distance. Blankenship pushes Rogers up against the cage in a clinch. Blankenship manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Blankenship unloads a knee to the mid-section. Rogers lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Blankenship breaks from the clinch.
Blankenship gets a clinch. Rogers managing to block the knees to the body from Blankenship.
Blankenship stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Blankenship is leaning against Rogers and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Blankenship - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Blankenship escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blankenship moves into range and clinches up with Rogers. Blankenship is trying to push Rogers away but Rogers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Blankenship breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rogers misses with a few strikes there.
Rogers moves out of range of the body kick from Blankenship.
Blankenship tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Blankenship tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rogers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blankenship darts in and clinches Rogers up against the cage. Blankenship breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Blankenship doesn't manage to clinch there - Rogers circles away.
Rogers lands a nice hook to Blankenship's body. Blankenship takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Blankenship moves in looking to clinch but Rogers pushes him off. Blankenship clinches up with Rogers and pushes him back against the cage. Blankenship's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Blankenship tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rogers paws at him with a jab and circles away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blankenship tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rogers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Blankenship tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Blankenship cracks a nice hook into Rogers's ribs.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Blankenship comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Blankenship has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
