Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Devin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Von Minoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Devin Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joseph Von Minoza!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minoza throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
Minoza's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johnson under the eye.
A shot to the liver by Minoza. Beautiful body shot.
Minoza with a nice cross.
Good exchange - Minoza coming out on top.
Johnson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Johnson.
Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Minoza had a free shot at his head there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Minoza tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Minoza lands the left hand.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Minoza's guard.
Minoza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Minoza wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Minoza, up you get!
Minoza darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Johnson scoring well with a low kick there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Minoza's half guard.
Johnson is looking to stall here but Minoza recovers full guard.

Minoza wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Devin Johnson just wasn't active enough.

Johnson shoots in and bounces Minoza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Johnson throwing strikes but missing.
Minoza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson passes Minoza's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Johnson passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson controlling the pace for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Minoza fails to land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Minoza.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Minoza enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Minoza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Minoza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Minoza wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Minoza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Johnson stands up and beckons Minoza to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Minoza throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Minoza misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely.
Minoza looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range.
Minoza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Minoza.
Devin Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Johnson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Minoza wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Minoza is keeping the position.

Minoza pushes Johnson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson.
Minoza misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Minoza pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devin Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Minoza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Minoza wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice straight punches there by Minoza. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Minoza.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A right-left combo lands from Minoza.
Minoza lands a jab to Johnson's midsection.
Minoza bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johnson's head.
Minoza will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Joseph Von Minoza will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Johnson clinches.

Johnson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Minoza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Minoza decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Joseph Von Minoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Minoza throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson.

Johnson moves into the clinch successfully.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nice jab there from Minoza.

Johnson pushes Minoza up against the cage in a clinch.

Johnson jumps guard.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Minoza defends well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Minoza is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Minoza isn't so interested in that idea.

Johnson has his foot on Minoza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Minoza works his way back into a safe position though.
Minoza wants to stand and escape but instead Johnson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Minoza wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Minoza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Minoza wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Minoza misses with a looping right.
Minoza takes a kick to the side of the head.
Minoza lands a slapping body shot.

Johnson looking to score a takedown here. Minoza is defending well but Johnson drives through and ends up in Minoza's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson pushing down on Minoza's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Johnson is looking to advance position but Minoza won't allow it.

Minoza pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson moves away from the strike by Minoza.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Minoza shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Devin Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
