1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lucky Strike! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Titanium feints and as Strike raises his hands in defense, Titanium changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Strike keeping moving, preventing Titanium from controlling successfully. Strike really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Titanium. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Titanium is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Titanium trying to control the position from guard on top but Strike is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Strike wants to get back to his feet but Titanium is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Titanium wants to control from the top but Strike keeps moving. Strike throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Titanium escapes and throws Strike's legs to the side, diving into side control! Strike tries to buck Titanium off but Titanium is having none of it. Titanium wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Strike, who protects the arm well. Titanium wants to lay and pray for a moment but Strike keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Titanium thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Strike tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Titanium wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Titanium has an Americana. Strike didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Titanium is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Titanium hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Thomas Titanium! Thomas Titanium took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Awhooooooooooooooooooooooooooo'.
