Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bounty Killa - Sufferer. Frank Dux acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Douglas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Dux! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Douglas. No joy for Dux on that attempt. Douglas instigates a clinch. Douglas gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Dux working for submissions but it's allowed Douglas to get to half guard.
Dux has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Douglas is working away from the top position though. Dux regains full guard. Nicely done. Dux manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Douglas manages to get himself to full guard.

Dux thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Douglas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Douglas trying to keep a closed guard but Dux is proving a slippery customer.

Dux is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas tries to get to full guard but Dux has control of the leg.

Douglas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dux is working away from the top position though. Douglas is breathing heavily. Dux trying to pass the guard but Douglas defending well. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Douglas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Douglas is looking for a kimura here.
Dux gets full guard. Douglas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Douglas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dux, up you get! That's four minutes gone in the round. Dux has his foot on Douglas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Douglas works his way back into a safe position though. Douglas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Douglas stands and throws Dux's legs to the side, diving into side control. Douglas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Douglas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dux is looking for a sweep. Douglas is working Dux over with some ground and pound from side control. Douglas controlling the position from side mount. Dux sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas goes for an armbar but Dux turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dux. Douglas keeping full guard, as Dux tries to pass. Douglas working for a triangle but Dux defends it easily.
Dux has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Douglas is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dux stopping the sweep attempt from Douglas. Douglas is trying to keep Dux in close.
Dux tries to stand but Douglas is controlling from the bottom. Douglas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dux tries to roll over but Douglas keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Douglas is just content to waste time from the top position. Dux takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Douglas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dux on the ground.

Dux content just to control the position here. Douglas stops Dux from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Dux goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Douglas turns into him and now he's in Dux's guard.
Dux has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Douglas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dux with a poor takedown and Douglas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dux's guard now. Dux working for a triangle but Douglas defends it easily.

Douglas gets to his feet - Dux follows without any prompting. Dux fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Douglas checks it well. Douglas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Douglas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Rob Douglas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Douglas prevents Dux from getting the reversal. Dux is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dux tries to close the distance and clinch but Douglas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Douglas scores a takedown into full mount! Dux slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Dux wants to control but Douglas is keeping busy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Dux gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Douglas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dux's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Douglas stands and throws Dux's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dux struggling a bit here.

Dux moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Dux escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Douglas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dux manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Douglas manages to get himself to full guard.
Dux is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Douglas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Douglas has escaped and now he's on top! Dux is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Douglas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dux works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dux has his hands on Douglas's head, controlling the position. Dux is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Frank Dux has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dux is looking to stand up but Douglas isn't so interested in that idea.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rob Douglas. Well Douglas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
