Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flavio Marcelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, So Nasty!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcelo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nasty closes the distance and clinches up with Marcelo, looking for a takedown. Nasty pushes Marcelo against the cage but Marcelo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A big right from Nasty misses.
Nasty misses with a takedown
and Marcelo counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nasty's knee momentarily.
Nasty tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marcelo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nasty somewhat.
Flavio Marcelo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of So Nasty.
Marcelo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nasty.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Marcelo.
Nasty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Marcelo is controlling Nasty's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marcelo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Nasty should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Marcelo has tightened it up now! Nasty should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
