The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Van Dammed.
mear tries to clinch there but Van Dammed circles away.
mear fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Van Dammed sprawls well initially but mear persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
mear thows an elbow strike that misses. Van Dammed gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. mear doesn't seem too bothered but Van Dammed quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! mear is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! mear really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
