Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Woodhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eoin Scullion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scullion is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Momma Said Knock You Out. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Woodhouse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eoin Scullion! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodhouse misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Woodhouse closes the distance but Scullion moves to the side and Scullion counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Scullion goes for a takedown in the clinch but Woodhouse prevents it.
Scullion goes for a takedown attempt but Woodhouse pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Woodhouse misses with a looping right. Scullion moves into the clinch. Scullion decides to pull guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Scullion is looking for a triangle but Woodhouse pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Woodhouse accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Woodhouse preventing the sweep. Scullion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Woodhouse defends well. Woodhouse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodhouse trying to control the position from guard on top but Scullion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scullion trying to control the position.
Scullion looking for a sweep. Not yet Scullion, not yet. Woodhouse wants to control from the top but Scullion keeps moving. Scullion working a defensive guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Josh Woodhouse just wasn't active enough. Woodhouse scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Scullion looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse misses with a double jab.
Woodhouse shoots in looking for a takedown. Scullion tries to sprawl out of it but Woodhouse keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scullion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Woodhouse shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scullion as he jumps to the side. No luck with that takedown attempt from Woodhouse. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Woodhouse. That's going to take a lot out of him. Woodhouse shoots for a takedown but Scullion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Woodhouse lands a jab to the nose. Woodhouse lands a nice shot to the body.
Josh Woodhouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scullion shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Scullion takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse misses with a low kick. Scullion displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Woodhouse. Woodhouse fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Woodhouse lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scullion circles away quickly and effectively. Woodhouse shoots for a double leg takedown but Scullion sprawls well. He's pushed Woodhouse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice takedown defense from Woodhouse. No joy for Scullion on that attempt. Woodhouse shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Scullion defends it nicely. Woodhouse fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Scullion has a takedown stuffed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scullion looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodhouse is fending him off so far but Scullion persists. Nope, Woodhouse circles away and we're back to standing. Woodhouse looks to land a combination but Scullion avoids it well. Woodhouse moves in looking to clinch but Scullion pushes him off. Scullion lands a really nice looking cross but Woodhouse seems unphased.
Woodhouse misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Scullion ducks right into an uppercut from Woodhouse. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Woodhouse shoots in and drives through. Scullion sprawls well. Woodhouse doesn't succeed with the takedown and Scullion counters with a solid body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Woodhouse dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Scullion darts in and clinches Woodhouse up against the cage. Scullion breaks the clinch.
Woodhouse misses the shot to the body. Woodhouse tries to clinch but Scullion is having none of it. A head kick misses from Scullion. Woodhouse has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Scullion. Scullion gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Scullion escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Josh Woodhouse is winning the standup battle so far. Scullion tries for a takedown but Woodhouse sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Scullion clinches with his opponent.

Scullion changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Woodhouse tries to avoid it but Scullion manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Woodhouse to the ground. Woodhouse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Josh Woodhouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Scullion is breathing heavily. Scullion fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Josh Woodhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eoin Scullion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodhouse shoots in but no luck this time. Scullion keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Scullion displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Woodhouse. Woodhouse lands with a right hand. Horrible takedown by Scullion or perhaps it was just good defense by Woodhouse which made him look bad. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woodhouse. Scullion shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Woodhouse but Woodhouse pushes him off and we're back to square one. Woodhouse gets a double leg takedown into Scullion's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Woodhouse postures up in Scullion's guard and throws a big left but Scullion blocks it. Scullion tries to land a sweep but no joy. Woodhouse controls from within his opponent's guard. Woodhouse postures up in Scullion's guard and throws a big left but Scullion blocks it. Woodhouse wants to pass the guard but Scullion is keeping the position. Scullion is looking to stand up but Woodhouse isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scullion wants to control the position but Woodhouse says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Still in half guard, Woodhouse seems content to control. Woodhouse trying to control the action but Scullion is working from the bottom. Scullion wants to improve his position but Woodhouse is controlling well.
Woodhouse wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scullion keeps working.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Josh Woodhouse. Woodhouse dips to his left and cracks Scullion with an uppercut!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scullion avoids it really well and circles away. A looping hook to the body misses from Woodhouse. Scullion does a little dance to reset his feet. Scullion walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Woodhouse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scullion tries to avoid it but Woodhouse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scullion to the ground. Scullion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Woodhouse lands a right hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Woodhouse or perhaps it was just good defense by Scullion which made him look bad. Scullion throws a low kick but Woodhouse moves out of range easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scullion looks to score with a jab to the body but Woodhouse is just out of range. Woodhouse tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Woodhouse dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Scullion closes the distance and clinches up with Woodhouse, looking for a takedown. Scullion pushes Woodhouse against the cage but Woodhouse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Woodhouse lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scullion circles away quickly and effectively. Woodhouse moves out of range of the body kick. Scullion rushes Woodhouse and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Scullion gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Woodhouse.
Woodhouse is trying to drag Scullion to the mat but Scullion just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Scullion breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Woodhouse rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Scullion counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Scullion. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Scullion putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Woodhouse in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scullion leaning against his opponent.
Scullion pulls guard effortlessly. Scullion had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Woodhouse defends it easily. Woodhouse trying to control but Scullion is working from the bottom. Scullion looking to hit a scissor sweep but Woodhouse is one step ahead there. Woodhouse wants to control from the top but Scullion keeps moving. Scullion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woodhouse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Woodhouse is really struggling to control Scullion but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scullion is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Woodhouse is aware though and is defending well. Woodhouse is pushing down on Scullion's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scullion is fighting to maintain full guard but Woodhouse has managed to sneak the leg through. Woodhouse is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Scullion doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Woodhouse. Josh Woodhouse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Woodhouse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scullion does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Scullion wants to control but Woodhouse is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse tries to stand and escape but Scullion is controlling the position. Woodhouse is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Woodhouse wants to pass to mount but Scullion is defending the position. Woodhouse is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Woodhouse is looking to take a break and control but Scullion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodhouse uses his free foot to push down on Scullion's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Scullion. Woodhouse wants to control the pace but Scullion is squirming around nicely. Woodhouse looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Josh Woodhouse is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Woodhouse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scullion is looking to escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scullion really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Josh Woodhouse showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Woodhouse, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
