Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fidalgo Brokador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fidalgo Brokador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Allen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brokador throws a head kick that Allen semi-blocks.
Brokador connects with a solid leg kick.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brokador as he avoids it easily.
Brokador lands with a good body shot.
Brokador connects with a solid leg kick.
Allen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Allen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Allen throws a big right hand that misses.
Allen throws a big elbow that misses.
Allen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Allen postures up in Brokador's guard and throws a big left but Brokador blocks it.

Allen controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mateus Allen.
Brokador pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Allen avoids the body shot from Brokador.
Allen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brokador eats them both and turns towards Allen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fidalgo Brokador seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Allen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Allen lands a couple of elbows.
Brokador will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Allen is working Brokador over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Allen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Allen in particular looking to stall.

Brokador is looking for a sweep. Allen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brokador on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brokador tries to get out of the position.

Fidalgo Brokador is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Allen has closed the distance and engaged Brokador in a clinch.

Brokador misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Allen.
Allen is looking for a takedown.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Allen is leaning against Brokador and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Brokador tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Allen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Allen has Brokador pressed against the ropes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Allen breaks the clinch.
Brokador shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Allen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brokador takes a shot right to the bread basket.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mateus Allen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Brokador dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Allen shoots in for a double leg but Brokador sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Allen looks for a takedown but Brokador sprawls well.
Brokador throws a head kick that misses.
Allen blocks the body kick.
Brokador cracks the inside of Allen's front leg.
Allen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Brokador throws a low kick, looking for Allen's leg but Allen calmly moves out of range.

Allen clinches up against the ropes.
Allen is looking for a takedown.
Fidalgo Brokador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Allen.
Allen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Brokador lands a nice knee to the body.

Allen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brokador pulls his leg out and moves away.
A clash of legs there as Allen blocks the low kick.
Brokador really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Brokador circles away from the clinch attempt.

Allen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brokador looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brokador parries the strikes from Allen easily there. Allen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brokador to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Allen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Brokador down.
Brokador is working to avoid the ground and pound but Allen connects with a decent elbow.
Brokador knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Allen on the ground.

Allen lands an elbow.

Allen decides to stand back up. Allen steps back and let's Brokador get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Allen fails with a takedown attempt.
Allen works Brokador's body with a nice hook.
Brokador misses with a body kick.
Allen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brokador looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Allen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brokador to the ground. Allen is now in Brokador's guard.
Allen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Allen throws a big elbow that misses.
Mateus Allen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Brokador keeping moving, preventing Allen from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Allen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Allen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mateus Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Allen drives through and clinches with Brokador against the ropes.

Brokador breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brokador tries a head kick but it misses.
Allen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brokador swivels and escapes.
Fidalgo Brokador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Allen.

Brokador doesn't manage to clinch there - Allen circles away.
Allen shoots in and drives through. Brokador sprawls well.

Allen avoids a kick to the body.
Allen is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Brokador rather than just go for the knockout.
Brokador pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brokador circles away from the clinch attempt.

Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brokador avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Allen tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Brokador manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brokador keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Allen thows a body shot but no joy.
Allen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brokador at a distance.

Allen avoids the head kick by Brokador.
Allen moves to clinch but Brokador breaks away

and Brokador moves into the clinch.
Brokador is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Allen is defending well for now.

Brokador has had enough of the clinch but Allen keeps him there for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brokador tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Allen avoids it.
Fidalgo Brokador has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fidalgo Brokador.
I think Allen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
