Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darren Fogerty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yorito Nayama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darren Fogerty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yorito Nayama! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fogerty throws a looping overhand right but Nayama ducks down to avoid it. Nayama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Fogerty throws a hook but Nayama avoids it easily. Fogerty misses the shot to the body. Fogerty throws a body punch but Nayama moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nayama is defended easily by Fogerty. Fogerty avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nayama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fogerty scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Fogerty ducks under a wild hook from Nayama. Yorito Nayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fogerty jabbing away but nothing is landing. Fogerty doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nayama swings widly with a right hand
letting Fogerty counter with a right hand. Fogerty jabs at Nayama's body. Fogerty shoots in looking for a takedown but Nayama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fogerty's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nayama missing with a left hand there. Fogerty was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nayama misses with a hook
and Fogerty counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fogerty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nayama as he jumps to the side. Nayama shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fogerty as he jumps to the side. Nayama stuns Fogerty with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Fogerty looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Fogerty. Nayama does a little dance to reset his feet. Fogerty throws a lazy right hand but Nayama sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Fogerty takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nayama fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fogerty looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nayama throws a big shot that misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! No luck with that takedown attempt from Fogerty. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Fogerty. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fogerty misses with a shot to the body and Fogerty takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Fogerty throws a hook but Nayama blocks it. Fogerty works the jab nicely. Nayama shoots in for a double leg but Fogerty sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nayama waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fogerty.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nayama throws out a loose jab but Fogerty uses good head movement to avoid it. Nayama thows a body shot but no joy. Fogerty changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nayama looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Nayama is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fogerty off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nayama looking for the RNC. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fogerty is trying to defend against the choke here but Nayama has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Nayama Tightens the hold and Fogerty taps out furiously! Nayama displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yorito Nayama!
