Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddy Jones!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vega forces Jones back against the cage and clinches.
Vega tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Vega closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Eddy Jones has been cut.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Vega pushes him off.
Jones wants to clinch.
Vega fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vega is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Vega rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jones shoots in but Vega avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jones checks the leg kick.

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Vega has Jones pressed against the cage.

Vega is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Vega drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vega jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vega throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Vega is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones can't keep his opponent in guard - Vega advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vega is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Vega eventually gives up the hold.

Vega looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Vega leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tony Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddy Jones.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Vega manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vega is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vega tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jones blocks a head kick by Vega.
Vega moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.
Vega does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Vega tries to clinch but Jones moves away

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Vega fights it but they end up in guard.
Vega not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vega is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jones wants to control from the top but Vega keeps moving.

Eddy Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Vega throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Vega tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tony Vega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vega throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Vega sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vega throws some wild stikes that Jones manages to avoid easily.
Jones tries to control Vega's body but Vega pushes him off. Jones squirms to his side and now Vega has his back!

Vega slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Jones's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Jones is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Vega.

Even with his hooks in, Vega manages to miss with strikes from the back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Vega will probably get the nod.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Vega tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vega manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Vega manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vega throws a combination. Jones tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Vega is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Vega feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Vega then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vega tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vega to the ground. Vega escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Vega here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Vega keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
